Hamza Ali Abbasi is a Former Pakistani film and television actor/director. He was born on 23rd june 1984 in Multan. He is 36 years old.
He is currently living in Canada. He is known for his roles as Afzal in the drama serial Pyarey Afzal, and as Salahuddin in the drama serial Mann Mayal.
He gained his bachelor in International Relations from the United States and his Master’s in the same subject from Quaid-e-Azam University.
He also passed the CSS exams and was working as a civil service officer in the police group before abandoning the job to concentrate on his passions, film-making, and acting.
Abbasi was born into a Punjabi family of civil servants to Major (Retd) Mazhar Ali Abbasi, an army officer, and Begum Nasim Akhtar Chaudhary, a politician affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party.
He has one sister, Fazeela Abbasi, and she is a dermatologist. He is married to actress Naimal Khawar and has a son.
Apart from acting and directing Hamza Ali Abbasi is also interested in politics. He is also a member of a political party called Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. He is a Muslim and he loves his religion dearly. He has announced to quit the media industry to focus on his religion.
Hamza Ali Abbasi started his career in 2006 as a theatre actor and appeared in several plays such as Bombay Dreams, Phantom of the Opera, and Home is Where Your Clothes Are.
He made his directorial debut with the feature film Mud House and the Golden Doll, which he describes as a simple story about simple people.
He considers his breakthrough to be the movie Waar in 2013. He was initially an Assistant Director to Bilal Lashari, before the later offered him a role in the movie, that he considers important for his future career.
He voiced Baba Bandook, the main antagonist, and Vadero Pajero in the Unicorn Black produced animated series, Burqa Avengers.

Parwaz Hai Junoon in 2018 and he did a special appearance as Imran Khan in “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2” the same year. His two films “The Legend Of Maula Jutt” and “Kambakht” are still in the working process.
Hamza did his television debut with “Meray Dard ko jo Zubaan Miley” in 2012. He appeared in “Pyarey Afzal”, “Ek Tha Raja Aur Aik Thi Rani”, and “Gullo weds Gooli” in 2013. “Mann Mayal” in 2016 and “Alif” in 2019.
Hamza Ali Abbasi has won several awards for his acting in dramas and films. He won the “ARY Film Award Best Supporting Actor” for “Waar” and “ARY Film Award for Best Star Debut Male” for “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi” in 2014. “ARY Best Supporting Actor” for “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani” in 2016.
He won Lux Style Awards “Best TV Actor” 2015 and “Best Dressed Male” 2016 for Pyarey Afzal.
He won HUM TV Awards “Best Actor Popular” and “Best Onscreen Couple” for “Mann Mayal” in 2017.
He also won the International Pakistan Prestige Awards “Style Icon of the Year Male” also in 2017.
He has also worked in a number of plays before making his debut in films and dramas.
